       windows 7 is the latest version of series of operating systems that Microsoft has produced for use on computers.It is the follow-up to the Windows Vista operating system which was released in 2006.An operating allows your computer to manage software and perform essential tasks.It is also a Graphical User Interface(GUI) that allows you to visually interact with your computer's functions in a logical,fun easy way.A short note on windows 7.

a)Windows 7 starter-This version is the most basic version of windows 7.It is mainly used for notebook.User can upgrade to other edition for accessing more feature.

b) Windows home basic-This edition provides limited features and is available only  in emerging markets because of it's lower price.It is restricted in devealoped countries,Windows 7 home baic is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit version.

c)Windows 7 Home Premium-Home premium edition in all the countries,in both 32-bit and 64-version.It provides more features than Home Basic.Windows 7 supports DVD maker.The user can create a home group.It also supports multi touch supports .It can be installed in tablet PC.This edition also supports TV tuners. Windows Areo theme can be applied.This edition supports windows Flip 3D.The user can post sticky note on their desktop.This edition also allows the users to create a windows slideshow.

d)Windows 7 professional- This version is mainly used by corporate.It contains features that are compatible for an office environment.For example,applocker,creating back up to the network,joining domains,encrypting files,Local group,policy,language pack installation and location Aware printing.

e)Windows 7 Enerprise-This version of windows 7 is used by large corporate houses and business.This edition contains all the features that are present in all other editions of windows 7.

Windows 7 Ultimate-This version of windows is mainly for personal use and it contains all the features available in all other edition windows 7.

 Windows 7 operating system is very similar to its immediate predecessors,windows Vista.However,Windows provides a set of new feature in comparison to windows vista.The new featuers of windows 7 are as follows.

1. 32-bit and 64-bit version: Windows 7 is available in both 32-bit and 54-bit versions.This is the way the computer handles the dta.The 64 version of windows can procces large amount of data as compared to 32-bit version.
2. the getting started menu:The getting started menu in windows 7 consists of the list of  tasks that you want to perform when you setup your computer,such as transferring files from another computer,adding new user,backing up the files or personalizing windows.
3. Home group:The home group feature of windows 7 helps in sharing files,picture,music,videos,and documents on a home network.In other word ,a home group is a collectio of windows 7 computer that are connected with each other to share files.In windows 7,Home group is an easiest way to share files in a home networks.
4. Jump List:Jump list is a list of recently opened items,such as files ,folders,or websites.The jump list feature has beenin windows 7 for both the start menu and the tool bar.
5. Areo peek,Areo shake and Areo snap:The areo feature,introduced with windows vista,is also part of windows 7 and provides a semitransparent glass look,multiple color schemes,and live preview thumbnail.The new Areo featues include Areo peek,Areo snapand Areo shakes.
